1. Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders (1987)
Angels in Berlin when the wall still existed. Music by Nick Cave. I cannot resist to that combination! Although I was close to putting Paris, Texas.

2. Babel by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu (2006)
Those who read my blog should know already why Babel is one my favs.

3. Velvet Goldmine by Todd Haynes (1998)
This is a film I will never get tired of watching. And the particular scene where Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Bowie) sings Sebastian with the purple dress is insurmountable.
4. Arizona Dream by Emir Kusturitsa (1993)
The most poetic film I have ever seen...

5. Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino (1994)
I guess I feel I have to pay tribute to the 'Nasty Nineties' and to the Tarantinoesque aesthetic which has always fascinated me. It also stands for Jacky Brown and Kill Bill 1,2.

Well, I should also make a list of the other nominees as well that do not fit in lists (Donnie Darko, Mullholand Drive, Corpse Bride, Carne Tremula, A Night on Earth, Sur mes Levres , The English Patient, Amores Perros) and this could go on and on and on... Thank you Jason for the invitation, it made my weekend less carefree trying to figure out my top 7!!

Thank you Mia for your response to my invitation. With great shame I'll tell you that I've seen only Pulp Fiction and Billy Elliot from your list. I'll try to watch Babel and Arizona Dream asap! Great list!
Absolutely!! :))
Mia I love all the films you mentioned.I can't believe I forgot The Clockwork Orange! But in particularly I love Velvet Goldmine and Rhys Meyers.I can't believe that you like it too!
As for my love for Tarantino you know it I just refused to choose.
You like Velvet too?? I didnt expect to find somebody else! Of all the people I know only one of my best friends and me are obsessed with the film+Meyers!! You should also watch the Disappearence of Finbar! I also love the films you mention too, it is hard to choose isnt it? Especially the Donnie Darko exclusion really hurts...maybe I should reconsider! :)) As for Tarantino, as I say, I had the same problem myself!

Super!
