Paradox

They say that (post) modern societies are marked by alienated individuals who suffer from a lack of communication, hiding in their cement boxes and not reaching a hand to bridge the distance with other people. True. But isnt it funnily bizarre that at the same time you feel that you are an everyday witness of your neighbours' lives? You know when the guy next to you has a cold, the girl on the other side is having guests, what the chick on heels (or no heels but still noisy!) upstairs is watching on telly, if the new guy is an insomniac, or what the indian guy downstairs is cooking in his kitchen. You end up sharing small fragments of their life like it happens when you overhear a random conversation on the bus or in the street. So many stories in such small spaces...

Beautiful post Mia.I think that you can enter someones world and discover little details when you pay attention. You pay attention to your neighbor that is watching the telly because you want to communicate.
However, I have doubts on how many people do actually notice.

Thank you sweetie! Yes, you are quite right. Most people do not pay attention to small details or want to communicate. But again it is a little like a blog only the blog is more esoteric and communicative -you get a glimpse of other people's thoughts and construct their lives and characters using fragments.
